Artist Statement Updated
The obvious connection between all these photos is that I took them, but the strongest connection between all of them is the effort I put in each piece. I worked hard on all of these photos and I'm proud of each one. I can't say these all include sports, east, or even the same state. However these photos all represent my artistic eye and what I think makes a good photo. If there was a style I was starting to see develop it would be how unique all of these photos are. Each one can stand out and does and each one is more unique than the last. There isn't a particular type of subject I tend to shoot, but I try to frame whatever I'm shooting in a way that allows me to add anything if needed. This means I shoot wider than most and then crop according to what I want the photo to look like in the end. To make interesting photo I look for things that are considered normal and think how I could change that. There's no specific place I look, it's more so the framing and subject I'm capturing that helps me make the photo look good.

For this photo I needed a low aperture in order to keep his face in focus but have the trees be blurry. I also needed a fast shutter speed to capture his facial expression as he pitched the ball.
For this photo I needed an even faster shutter speed on camera in order to capture the ball as it leaves his hand.
I needed to have a higher ISO in order for there to be enough light in the photo. I also needed a high aperture to keep the buildings in the back in focus.

Illusion photo 12/7/2016- The purpose of this photo was to show that sometime the only person that will help you is yourself. No matter the scenario, you should always try to help instead of hinder or hurt whatever you're trying to do. Whether it be literal or imaginary, always do what's right for you. My attempt to showcase this idea was by having the subject holding off the giant trying to eat him while a larger opaque version of himself reaches in to rescue him.
Illusion photo 12/7/2016- I believe that in the midst of all the problems in the world, it's important to sometimes create your own reality. A reality that isn't so serious and literal. Somewhere that can be as outlandish as you desire and equally unpredictable. That was the intention of this photo. In order to achieve this fantasy I did a couple things. Perhaps what stands out the most is I took a Lego Darth Vader and placed his light saber in a pencil sharpener. I then decided that wasn't enough and put him in Easter Island with a couple toy deer and duplicated statues to fill more of the frame.
These photos were taken on 11/2/16 and the point was to create an eerie or creepy photo. In order to do this, many different rules of composition were used as well as a variety of Photoshop techniques. Framing, devil eye, infrared, and color blending are just a few that were used throughout these pictures.
Here is photo with a focal point, adjusted colors, and the background edited to look blurry. Depth of field as well as framing was used to draw your eyes to the two players lined up against each other. 10/14/2016
